Sabbath Friendships
Dear Church Family, Friends, and Guests,
Another beautiful Sabbath day! The relative peace and quiet that's ours amidst a storm of global strife is a gift we must cultivate awareness around. It's important to find the energy and strength in this fleeting gift to continue to serve our God as we serve one another, and to advocate for peace and justice in this world.
I am very pleased to have Jonny Moor, Bible Teacher at Glendale Adventist Academy with us as guest speaker today! My connections to the Academy run deep. Not only was I there serving Boards and Committees from 1997 to 2015, but by son attended elementary school there. It's been a privilege to work with many of the Bible Teachers that have served there through the years—for all of them are pastors at heart.
I am joining a group of classmates from Monterey Bay Academy at a reunion of sorts in SLO today. Last time we were together at our 40th Reunion, I was reminded of the power of friendships, and the love that I have for people whom, in some cases, I haven't seen for years. I'll be back Sunday.
And on that note, a very special Birthday wish to one of our super seniors—Elmer Esperanza. Elmer is turning 85 years old! We've known Elmer since approximately 1997 when he and his family attended Hollywood and we first arrived to serve this congregation. Happy 85th, Elmer! We love and appreciate you!
May God Bless you as you worship in Spirit and Truth today.
Pr. Greg
