JUNE 7 // LGBTQIAA+ SAFETY DISCUSSION, PEACE + JUSTICE MEETING. Meet us in the Community Chapel after lunch to continue our focus on what it means to be a safe congregation for all of us, including those of us who are LGBTQIAA+. DEEP DIVE CANCELLED FOR MAY 24. We are cancelling Deep Dive so everyone can participate in the opening reception of the WE ARE THE LIGHT Art Exhibit.
NEXT SABBATH // WE ARE THE LIGHT ART EXHIBIT // MAY 24 - JULY 27. A collaborative art exhibit with The People Concern’s Studio 526 focused on “Stories of Community Resilience Fostering a Common Vision of Hope.” Artist reception on May 24, 1-4pm here at Hollywood.
STARTS JUNE 14 // DEEP DIVE / SAYING NO TO GOD BOOK STUDY. "Saying No to God" provides a fresh perspective on biblical discipleship, encouraging readers to engage in a more dynamic and critical dialogue with God. This inclusive approach promises to deepen one's faith through a strong commitment to studying scripture and addressing hard topics such as racism, sexism, and homosexuality. Join us as we take a deeper dive into this book every 2nd and 4th sabbath, after the Worship Service. Lunch will be served.
DESIGNATED IN-PERSON ELDER. Every week a different Elder is available to pray or answer questions. This week’s designated in-person Elder is KIRSTEN.
INTERIM PASTOR—PASTOR GREG HOENES. While we are going through the pastoral search process, we are blessed to have Pastor Greg as our interim pastor. He has been a senior pastor at Hollywood before so we welcome him back home.
TEXTS FOR TRANSFORMATION BOOK CLUB. Read and discuss books that explore hard questions about how to live with one another and with God. No homework is given, we’ll read together and talk online. All are welcome! Our next meeting is May 9. Every other Friday, 7-8pm. We will meet on Google Meet.
MIDWEEK FUEL PRAYER SERVICE. Join us every Wednesday for prayer from 7-8pm at the Interaction Space here at Hollywood Church. All are welcome. Connect through email for more info.
THE WELL. Every other Friday / 7:00pm – 8:45pm PST on Zoom. Together, we aim to: live out our IDENTITY in Christ, grow in COMMUNITY, and be intentional about spiritual MATURITY. For more info contact Merlinda.
